For those seeking  training in the hunter/jumper discipline from a top-notch facility, Rivendell Farm LLC, located just outside of Oakwood, is the place to be. Located on 15 pristine acres, Rivendell is host farm to The Rivendell High School and Middle School Equestrian Teams, and the Mill Creek High School Equestrian Team.  Established in 2003, Rivendell is a family-owned and operated business by mother and daughter, Cheryl Reyenger and Rachel Abel.  

Rachel is the trainer in the family, having ridden for 22 years. She has competed successfully throughout the United States and Canada. When the family lived in Wellington, Florida, Rachel competed in the world class Wellington Winter Festival riding under the guidance of Bill Schaub. 


Riding since the age of 6, Rachel went on to become the Junior Medal winner at the age of 11 in the Chicago Circuit. After moving on to Jumpers, she competed with top riders in the Canadian Circuit with the great riders Ian Millar, Jill Underwood, Eric Lamaze, and Grant Field.  Rachel has been teaching since the age of 23. As Rivendell’s trainer, Rachel is not only a past award-winning competitor, but an award-winning trainer teaching Hunt Seat Equitation. In Rivendell’s first year competing in IEA, the Rivendell Equestrian Team was Zone Champion qualifying for Nationals held in Maryland. Rivendell Equestrian Team has been Champions and Reserve Champions at the year-end finals of RIFNA. Additionally, Rachel was the official trainer and coach for the last 2 year’s National IEA Winner,  Brittlan Wall.
